Own your data, own your history.

Chronicle is an open-source, local-first memex that archives and indexes your digital history.

  • A full archive of your digital history. Chronicle makes your history accessible in a single place.
  • Integrates with dozens of third-party services. Chronicle connects the data you generate daily — capture your message, photos, reading/viewing/listening history, and more.
  • Completely private, completely open-source. Chronicle is built local-first and none of your data touches third-party services.

Origin story

Imagine if your complete personal history was accessible to you in a single, unified archive.

Imagine being able to search for something across everything you've messaged, read, or viewed. Imagine using this system to help you make sense of complex topics or navigate connections between information.

In 1945, The Memex was supposed to be this device but it was never built.

Chronicle is the open-source adaption of an experimental personal project that attempted to build a modern-day memex.
